Developer Danny Ryan said the “comprehensive Ethereum 2.0 security audit” as part of Phase Zero should take place in February next year, Trustnodes reports.

According to him, it will mainly analyze the susceptibility of the new system to DoS attacks, its “susceptibility to resource abuse, which leads to unintentional hard forks,” and other weaknesses of Ethereum 2.0. The audit report is expected to be published in early February.

“This release v0.10.0 will focus on integrating the new BLS standards into the core Ethereum 2.0 specifications.”

Ryan also hopes that this winter will launch a test network with support for various clients. In addition, a deposit contract will be tested for approximately three months. Consequently, the core network of Ethereum 2.0 will begin work no earlier than mid-summer next year.
